At House of Arti, we believe proportion is the foundation of how a garment looks and feels on the body. Yet much of ready-to-wear begins with a standard proportion, with petite sizing often created by simply shortening an existing pattern. A woman who stands 1.45 metres tall may wear the same dress size as a woman who is 1.59 metres, but their proportions are not the same. Their clothing shouldn't be either.

Developed over nine years, the House of Arti Bespoke Petite System forms the foundation of every collection. Designed exclusively for women between 1.40 and 1.59 metres (4f 7.1” and 5f 2.6”), it begins with the shorter silhouette rather than adapting garments created for a different body. Our system is developed across two distinct height ranges: Extra Petite, 1.40 - 1.49m (4f 7.1” - 4f 11”), and Petite, 1.50 - 1.59m (4f 11.1” - 5f 2.6”), with each range considered independently. This allows the garment's proportions to respond to height, from shoulder placement and waist position to neckline depth, sleeve length, and hem placement.

The method was shaped by founder Arti Juglal's experience studying fashion design and working within luxury couture houses in Australia, where she specialised in bespoke clothing for individual clients. It was there that she experienced a more personal approach to design, with garments developed around the wearer and every proportion considered with intention. Standing at 1.45 metres herself, Arti wanted to bring that same level of consideration to ready-to-wear for shorter women, not as a scaled-down version of conventional clothing, but as a considered approach in its own right.

Every House of Arti garment begins with digital patternmaking and moves through repeated sampling, fit testing and refinement before production. Styles are tested across multiple bodies within their respective height range to ensure the proportions remain balanced from one size to the next. It is a considered process, designed to achieve a fit that feels natural rather than altered.

The House of Arti Bespoke Petite System is our way of designing with greater precision from the beginning. Because when a garment is created for the woman who will wear it, proportion is no longer something to correct. It is where the design begins.
